Everyone has heard the story of Gypsy Rose and her mother, who had Munchausen Syndrome, and kept her daughter sick for many, many years to control her and keep her from leaving home. When Gypsy met Nicholas Godejohn, she fell in love but knew her mother would never allow her to date. When caught previously talking to people online, her mother smashed her computer. Gypsy knew the only way she would get to live a normal life, would be to kill her mother. Godejohn and Gypsy conspired to kill her mother, as Gypsy waited for her mother to fall asleep before allowing Godejohn in and he stabbed her to death. Because of the abuse Gypsy was only sentenced to ten years in prison while Godejohn got life without the possibility of parole. Gypsy married while in prison but left him soon after getting out. She is now with another man and pregnant, life seems to be good.

What are your thoughts? Do you agree with Gypsy's decision to have her mother killed due to the abuse she was enduring? I'm on the fence about the whole situation. I'm sure if she had gotten law enforcement involved, maybe she could have avoided prison time but at the same time, it would take a lot to prove Munchausen Syndrome. Email me your thoughts on this, do you think Gypsy was justified in having her mother killed?
