Many people have been exonerated and released from prison after being wrongfully accused of crimes they did not commit. There seems to be a larger percentage of black inmates who were found innocent because of biases and prejudices that were present in the United States years ago. It is a shame that this occurred, and these individuals lost so much time in prison, when they could have been home with their families. Black people are 53% more likely to be wrongfully convicted than any other race.
