On December 23rd, 2023, David Barron (pictured on the left) was shot and killed in the Paddock Mall in Ocala, Florida by Albert Shell Jr in the food court. Barron was unarmed and killed; two others innocent bystanders were injured. Shell ran out of the mall and a manhunt ensued. Shell is facing charges of first degree, premeditated murder.
