In 1980, William Franklin was convicted of murdering Joseph Holland in a pool hall when he was just 33 years old. Another individual, Emanual Claitt, who had multiple charges, was bribed by police to testify against Franklin. Claitt took the deal and Franklin spent 44 years behind bars for a crime he did not commit. In March, Franklin was released, but on house arrest at age 77. He has already lost precious time with his family and per his attorney, he must now play the game.
