1. Pallor Mortis- The skin begins to pale due to blood pooling

2. Algor Mortis- The body begins to cool

3. Rigor Mortis- The muscles stiffen and contract

4. Livor Mortis- The pooled blood takes on a bruised looking effect

These stages help the medical examiner determine a time of death as well.
