Timothy Floyd Smith age 59 was brutally murdered and of course his husband was the lead suspect because that's just how it goes. They initially cleared him and I remember him being on the news crying and begging for someone to come forward. A large cash reward was offered for any information on the murder. Although Herbert Swilley, Smith's husband, was initially cooperative later on in the investigation, his attorney indicated that he will only cooperate if he was provided with immunity from prosecution for his husband's murder. Now I'm no detective for law enforcement officer, but if you're asking for immunity, you're guilty. They also went on to note that Jordan Swilley, Herbert's daughter was also a person of interest in the murder. On Saturday, March 25th at 10:50 a.m. Timothy Smith's body was found inside a citrus Park residence by Marion County sheriff's office who were conducting a well-being check since he had failed to show up for work. They noted that he had suffered a violent attack prior to his death. After months of attempting to question Herbert Swilley, They finally had enough evidence to charge him with the crime.
