Michael Jones- Summerfield, Florida 2019/Spousal Homicide and Paternal Filicide

In 2019, Michael Jones, age 41 murdered his wife and four children, ranging from ages 1-10. Two of these children were fathered by him while the other two were his wives from a previous relationship. He first murdered his wife Casei on July 10, 2019, after she accused him of infidelity. He took a metal bat and beat her to death in their family home, while the children slept nearby. He then put Casei's body into a tote bag and attempted to clean up the crime scene. Jones then killed his stepsons. He entered Cameron's room and manually strangled him to death and then placed him in a suitcase. The next evening, he killed his other stepson, Preston. He stated that his hands were sore from killing his other stepson, so he placed a rag in the drain in the bathtub and proceeded to drown 4-year-old Preston. He then admitted to using kitty litter to soak up the bodily fluids from each murder. He stored the boys' bodies in the home for several weeks. Later in the month, his two daughters returned from their grandmother's house, and he proceeded to drown each girl in the bathtub and stored them in a storage bin. In September of 2019, he was evicted from the home in Summerfield, so he packed up the home, including the five deceased bodies into his van. Jones even visited his ex-wife with their daughter's deceased bodies in the van. Jones proceeded onto Brantley County, Georgia and was involved in an accident. When law enforcement showed up to the scene, he told them that they would find his wife's dead body in the van. Jones then led them to the locations where he had hidden the bodies of the four children. They were found in totes and suitcases nearby. Jones' attorney tried to claim that his client had mental health issues and that he had voices in his head. Jones was sentenced to live in prison for the death of 5 family members. The mobile home where Jones and his family previously lived in in Summerfield has since been moved and destroyed. This case hits very close to home. Another narcissist who thought he was smarter than law enforcement, especially to the point where he drove around for at least a month with 5 deceased bodies in his van. I can't imagine the van smelled that great and he must have been psycho enough to enjoy and wallow in what he had done.
